Stockman moving to Impeach?

Have you seen the headline from the Drudge Report? Congressman Steve Stockman just threatened to file Articles Of Impeachment against Barack Hussein Obama if he institutes gun control measures via an executive order, and I can tell you with a 100% certainty that the Republican establishment – yes, I said the Republican establishment – is going to hit Congressman Stockman HARD for having the courage to say what so many of us have been demanding for far too long… that a sitting Member of Congress should have the courage to talk about Impeaching Barack Hussein Obama… and [money blah blah]

What’s the Argument for Democracy?

Though it is easy to characterize democracy, recent political theory has been marked by a conspicuous omission. Virtually no argument is ever offered to support the desirability of representative democracy, and the little that is available seems distressingly weak. Why ought democracy to be either instituted or promoted, let alone exported? One would think that as important a question as that of the best political system would have generated an enormous literature. In point of fact, most writing on the subject simply takes for granted the desirability of democracy and inquires how existing democracies may be improved. The issue of whether democracy is a “good thing” is not thought worth raising. But what if it is? Why should one care about democracy?

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Hazlitt: The Road to Totalitarianism

In spite of the obvious ultimate objective of the masters of Russia to communize and conquer the world, and in spite of the frightful power which such weapons as guided missiles and atomic and hydrogen bombs may put in their hands, the greatest threat to American liberty today comes from within. It is the threat of a growing and spreading totalitarian ideology.

Totalitarianism in its final form is the doctrine that the government, the state, must exercise total control over the individual.

Senate votes to avoid ‘fiscal cliff’

We cannot “avoid” the fiscal cliff, and there are not enough bulldozers in America, or indeed on this entire planet, to tear it down.
We the people did not do this. Our governments and politicians did this, and merely passes the bill on to the people as a “claim” that WE are supposed to pay!
