I apologize for posting the article below in this way, but as yet the website doesn’t quite have it’s act together, yet has good writings.? There are flaws in it’s linking which make it quite impossible to get a link directly to any certain article.? But this brings to us a very important point which has, up to now, gone right over everyone’s head, including my own until the moment I read this:
“The tables are now turned.? The Democrats have not submitted a budget in 757 days.? They have no plan to do so.? They unanimously voted against Barack Obama’s budget plan.? They have no plan to fix Medicare or restructure entitlements.? Nothing.”
We have had NO BUDGET for “757 days”!? What does that mean?? Spending has always been authorized and controlled by the Budget, is that correct?? No budget means no funding, no spending, nothing, right?? How is this entire paper-game and fiat debt even “legal”?
Congress can spend whatever it wants, for whatever it wishes, and Treasury will write the checks, and sell it’s debt via it’s agent TheFed, and add it all to the National Debt, and finally claim that the People must pay the bills?
So can the People do anything about it?? Why sure they can — they can vote for more of the same every couple of years!
So much for the supposed intelligence of the “human bean”!
Article from Erick Erickson, “Daily Events”, 05.27.11
Back in 2009 and 2010, the chattering class labeled the Republican Party “unserious.”? It was the Party of No.? It had no plans to fix the healthcare crisis.? It had no plans to fix the economic crisis.? It had nothing.
The chattering class held firm in the conviction that voters would reject the Republican Party because it was unserious and lacked any sort of plan.? But the GOP did have a plan.? The Democrats and their friends in the media just chose to ignore the plan.
Famously, when President Obama went to Congress to pitch his healthcare plan, he said the Republicans had no plan.? Each time he did so, the GOP held its plan in the air.
The tables are now turned.? The Democrats have not submitted a budget in 757 days.? They have no plan to do so.? They unanimously voted against Barack Obama’s budget plan.? They have no plan to fix Medicare or restructure entitlements.? Nothing.
It is now the Democrats who are unserious.? At least back in 2009, the GOP really did have a plan.
There is also a word of caution for the GOP.? They won in 2010, perceived as standing in opposition to major change in the healthcare system.? The Democrats said the public just didn’t understand, needed to be educated, or that the Democrats just “got the message wrong.”? That’s what the GOP is now saying in the face of united Democrat opposition.
The Republican Party better be careful not to make the same mistakes the Democrats did in selling, or rather failing to sell, health care changes to the American people.
